Solid wood tops (natural oak / dark stained oak / American walnut)

Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth immediately after use — do not allow liquids to sit on the surface.

Solid oiled wood is an open-pored natural surface that will absorb moisture if left untreated; always clean spills promptly.

For routine cleaning, use a soft, damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid harsh detergents, solvents, and abrasive pads.

The oiled finish on natural oak and walnut tops should be refreshed periodically with a suitable wood oil — contact us for Vitra's recommended care products.

The dark stained oak top with lacquer finish requires less frequent treatment but should be wiped clean promptly and kept free of standing moisture.

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which will cause all wood surfaces to change tone over time — this is a natural characteristic of solid wood, not a defect.

HPL top (white with black edge)

The HPL surface is highly durable and resistant to everyday marking.

For routine cleaning, wipe with a damp cloth and mild household cleaner.

The surface can tolerate more rigorous cleaning than solid wood but should not be exposed to strong solvents or abrasive pads, which may damage the surface or the black plastic edge.

Base (chrome / polished aluminium / powder-coated)

Wipe all metal base components with a dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth.

For chrome and polished aluminium finishes, avoid abrasive cleaners that will scratch or dull the surface.

A mild soap solution is safe for light cleaning.

For the powder-coated deep black base, mild soap and water is suitable for most marks.

Do not use solvent-based cleaners on any base finish.

The spreader connectors and column joints require no routine maintenance; if any connection feels loose over time, contact our team.

General

Use felt pads or floor protectors under all base feet to prevent floor damage, particularly on hardwood or sensitive surfaces.

Do not drag the table — lift with at least two people.

For heavy-duty regular use, a table pad or runner is recommended on solid wood tops to protect against scratching.
