The standard MR Table has a ½-inch thick polished plate glass top — clear. A black glass limited edition is also available for those who prefer a darker, more dramatic top surface with the same stainless steel base geometry. The standard base finish is polished chrome / polished stainless steel. Three ultra-matte powder-coated finishes were introduced in 2024: dark red, onyx, and white. Specify at time of order.
The MR Table is 52.8 cm (20.8 in) high — an occasional or side-table height. It pairs naturally with the MR Lounge Chair, MR Adjustable Chaise, and most low lounge seating in the 40–45 cm seat height range. It is not designed as a dining-height table.
Yes — four examples of the MR Table were included in the Villa Tugendhat, designed by Mies van der Rohe and completed in 1930 in Brno, Czech Republic. The house is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the defining works of International Style architecture. The design has been manufactured by Knoll since 1977.
Yes — the MR Table ships fully assembled. No on-site assembly is required. Allow adequate access for delivery; the table weighs approximately 16.8 kg (37 lbs).
The MR Table received the Museum of Modern Art Award in 1977 and the Design Centre Stuttgart Award in 1978. The MoMA collaboration reflects Knoll's ongoing relationship with the Mies van der Rohe Archives at The Museum of Modern Art, New York.
Each authentic MR Table carries the KnollStudio logo and the signature of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe stamped into the base, ensuring lifetime authentication.
