The Cesca Fully Upholstered Side Chair is the armless, fully upholstered expression of Marcel Breuer's iconic 1928 cantilevered dining chair — the same seamless 1" diameter chrome-plated tubular steel cantilevered frame stamped with the KnollStudio logo and Breuer's signature, with the cane and beech seat and back replaced by a molded plywood form cushioned in foam and upholstered entirely in fabric or leather of your specification.

A wide range of Knoll textiles (fabric) and Spinneybeck leathers are available. Contact our team to discuss options and to request material samples before ordering.

The dimensions and weight are the same (18.5"W × 23.5"D × 31.5"H; 14–16 lbs). The chrome cantilevered frame and the cantilever flex are identical. The difference is entirely in the seat and back construction: the Caned version has woven cane insets in a solid beech frame; the Fully Upholstered version has a molded plywood form with foam cushion in fabric or leather. The upholstered version is softer and available in a wider range of textile colours and leather grades. 

Yes — the Cesca Fully Upholstered Armchair (listed separately) has the same upholstered construction with integrated upholstered arms at 27"H and is 23.5"W.

Yes — 100% genuine Knoll (KnollStudio). The frame is stamped with the KnollStudio logo and Marcel Breuer's signature. Knoll has held exclusive production rights since 1968.
