When Florence Knoll revolutionized the private office — replacing the imposing, diagonal executive desk with a simple table placed parallel to the back wall, in the spirit of "total design" inherited from her mentor Ludwig Mies van der Rohe — she needed somewhere for the filing and storage that had traditionally lived inside that desk.

Florence Knoll’s redesign of the executive office replaced the traditional, intimidating corner desk with an approachable, minimalist work table. Because tables lack integrated storage, she introduced the low, architectural credenza to run quietly along the rear wall. The 4-Position Credenza represents the maximum standard footprint of this design—offering four continuous bays behind unified wood or lacquer fronts. Equipped with polished aluminum pulls, silent magnetic door closures, and discrete baseline cooling vents, it effortlessly supports modern power grids without disrupting its historic 1961 minimalist scale.

About Florence Knoll (1961)
Florence Knoll (1917–2019) approached furniture design through the lens of a rigorous structural architect. Having trained under Mies van der Rohe and Eliel Saarinen, she created the doctrine of "total design"—viewing furniture, textiles, graphics, and architectural space as an inseparable ecosystem. Every genuine collection piece features the KnollStudio logo and Florence Knoll’s signature stamped into the structural frame. Knoll operates as an active pillar of the global MillerKnoll collective.

Care Instructions

Chrome Base (Polished/Satin): Dust regularly with a clean, slightly damp soft cloth. Clear smudges with a mild soap blend and dry immediately. Never apply coarse scrubbing pads or chemical solvents. Address surface scratches quickly to shield internal steel from ambient oxidation.

Polyurethane Wood Veneer: Wipe surfaces down with a soft, damp microfiber cloth. Do not use standard furniture oils or harsh solvents over the polyurethane finish. Use protective coasters to isolate hot or saturated items from the veneer faces.

Polyester-Coated Marble: Clean with a simple damp cloth or mild soap. Avoid acidic agents like vinegar or citrus solutions which can mar the finish. Note that the clear polyester layer may naturally warm or mellow in tone over time.

Natural Marble (Uncoated): Uncoated natural stone remains highly porous. Clean up fluid spills immediately to prevent etching. Clean using only specialized pH-neutral natural stone detergents and seal periodically.

Реформа делового интерьера, проведенная Флоренс Нолл, носила строго архитектурный характер. Вместо громоздких двухтумбовых столов она предложила легкие письменные столы-столы, а все системы хранения перенесла в длинную, приземистую пристенную креденцу. Модель на 4 секции — самая вместительная в исторической линейке 1961 года. Гладкие фасады со скрытыми магнитными защелками и тонкими алюминиевыми ручками формируют строгий ритм, а стальная рама визуально приподнимает корпус над полом, гармонируя по стилю с диванами и креслами Florence Knoll Collection.

О дизайнере: Флоренс Нолл (1961)
Флоренс Нолл (1917–2019) рассматривала каждый предмет мебели как неотъемлемый элемент общей тектоники пространства. Инструкции по уходу

Хромированное основание: Очищайте мягкой, слегка влажной тканью. Удаляйте следы пальцев легким мыльным раствором, после чего незамедлительно вытирайте насухо. Использование жестких губок и абразивных составов исключено. При появлении царапин обработайте их сразу для предотвращения коррозии.

Шпонированный корпус (полиуретан): Протирайте влажной салфеткой из микрофибры. Запрещено применение средств на базе агрессивных растворителей. Используйте защитные подставки под горячие или влажные предметы интерьера.

Мрамор с полиэфирным покрытием: Промывайте тканью с деликатным мыльным средством. Кислотные составы (уксус, лимонный сок) могут повредить защитный слой. Незначительное пожелтение прозрачного слоя со временем является естественной спецификой полиэфира.

Натуральный мрамор (без покрытия): Пористый камень мгновенно впитывает жидкости. Любые пролитые вещества необходимо удалять незамедлительно. Применяйте только специализированную химию с нейтральным pH для натурального камня.
