The base, a single central chrome post dividing into a four-legged support, is engineered with the same heavy gauge welded steel and polished chrome finish used throughout the Table Desk and Executive Desk families, so a Round Table Desk placed alongside an Oval Table Desk or a Florence Knoll Dining Table introduces no visual inconsistency. Florence Knoll never distinguished sharply between the office and the home in her own design thinking — she treated both as architecture to be resolved with the same rigor — and the Round Table Desk moves as easily between a compact private office and a round dining table as any piece in her collection.

Florence Knoll Bassett (1917–2019) was a pioneering American architect, interior designer, and entrepreneur who fundamentally redefined the landscape of the modern corporate office. Born in Saginaw, Michigan, she studied under Eliel Saarinen at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, and later refined her architectural vision under modern masters Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Joining Hans Knoll in 1943, she founded the legendary Knoll Planning Unit, applying a rigorous architectural methodology to interior space planning. Her furniture designs—conceived not as standalone luxury ornaments but as essential structural elements within her wider spatial blueprints—became definitive pillars of Mid-Century Modernism. She was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 2002, the highest honor given to artists and designers by the United States government. Knoll is part of the MillerKnoll collective.

Care Instructions

Wood Veneer Top: Wipe with a slightly damp soft cloth. Do not leave standing moisture on the surface — dry immediately. Do not use solvent-based products. Avoid placing very hot items directly on the surface.

Laminate Top: Wipe with a slightly damp cloth. Mild detergent solution is safe for marks. Do not use abrasive cleaners or rough scrubbing pads.

Coated Marble Top: Wipe with a clean, slightly damp soft cloth. A mild soap solution is safe for marks — dry immediately and completely. Do not use acid-based cleaners (vinegar, citrus), which will permanently damage the coating. Do not place the desk outdoors. The coating may yellow slightly over time, giving the marble a warmer tone — an inherent natural characteristic, not a defect.

Polished Chrome Base: Wipe with a clean, slightly damp soft cloth for routine cleaning. Mild soap solution on a soft cloth is safe for marks — dry immediately. Do not use abrasive pads, scouring products, or solvent-based chemical cleaners.

Стол предназначен исключительно для интерьерного использования. Покрытие может незначительно пожелтеть со временем, придавая мрамору более теплый благородный оттенок, что является естественным свойством материала.

Полированное хромированное основание: Для регулярной уборки используйте чистую мягкую влажную салфетку. Для удаления следов рук можно использовать разведенный мыльный раствор с обязательным протиранием насухо. Не используйте жесткие щетки, металлические мочалки и агрессивные химикаты.
