Cosm was designed for modern workplaces where people move fluidly between focused work, collaboration, and informal meetings throughout the day. Its Auto-Harmonic Tilt and Intercept Suspension automatically adapt to each sitter’s body without manual adjustments, creating immediate ergonomic support and balanced recline. Available in low-back, mid-back, high-back, and stool configurations, Cosm easily integrates into executive offices, conference spaces, creative studios, and hybrid work environments. Studio 7.5 approached Cosm by rethinking how a chair should respond to the human body rather than forcing the body to adapt to the chair. Building on their earlier work with Herman Miller — including Mirra, Mirra 2, and Setu — they engineered Cosm’s Auto-Harmonic Tilt to create seamless movement and balanced support without complex adjustments. Their philosophy combines advanced ergonomic engineering with visually minimal design, resulting in one of Herman Miller’s most sophisticated seating systems to date.

Care instructions

Intercept Suspension mesh

Vacuum regularly using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and debris. For spot cleaning, use a soft damp cloth with mild soap and water. Avoid bleach, solvents, alcohol-based cleaners, or abrasive brushes that may damage the elastomeric suspension material.

Frame & chassis

Clean composite frame surfaces with a dry or lightly damp microfiber cloth. Avoid excessive moisture around moving components and tilt mechanisms. Do not use aggressive chemical sprays or polishing compounds.

Leaf Arms & arm pads

Wipe arm surfaces gently with a soft cloth and mild detergent solution when needed. Avoid sharp objects or excessive pressure on the flexible arm structure.

Casters & base

Periodically remove hair or debris from caster wheels to maintain smooth rolling performance. Semi-polished aluminum bases may be cleaned using a non-abrasive metal-safe cleaner.
