Everything you might ask before buying.
No. The Atlas Headrest installs without drilling, cutting, or permanent modification to the Aeron frame. It attaches and detaches using the existing backframe structure, leaving no marks. Herman Miller's 12-year, 3-shift warranty on the Aeron chair remains fully intact after fitting. Atlas explicitly confirms this and has designed the product specifically to ensure it is so.
The Remastered Aeron version of the Atlas Headrest is compatible with the Remastered Aeron (produced from 2017 onwards), in all three sizes: A (small), B (medium), and C (large). It is not compatible with the Classic Aeron (produced before 2017), which has a different backframe β a separate Atlas model exists for Classic Aeron chairs. If you are unsure which version of the Aeron you have, the key visual difference is the mesh: Classic Aeron has bold single-colour vertical stripes; Remastered has a narrower, tri-colour stripe pattern.
The Remastered Aeron comes in several pellicle (mesh) colours: Graphite is by far the most common, accounting for approximately 80% of Remastered chairs. Carbon, Mineral, Black, Onyx, and Ultra Matte are the other available options, each corresponding to a specific Aeron configuration. When in doubt, bring your Aeron model details to our Almaty showroom and we can confirm the correct match before you order.
The Suspension version uses an activated mesh panel β breathable, lightweight, and matching the Aeron's own 8Z Pellicle suspension surface in feel and aesthetic. The Cushion version has a padded, fabric or vegan leather surface for users who prefer a softer contact point. Both offer the same three-axis adjustability and mounting system. The Suspension version is more popular for extended desk work and warmer climates; the Cushion version is often preferred for gaming and video-call use where a softer contact is more comfortable.
The Atlas Headrest adjusts on three independent axes: up to 15.2 cm (6") of vertical height travel, up to 7.6 cm (3") of horizontal depth travel, and a wide rotational tilt range that aligns the mesh panel with your head position at any recline angle. All three adjustments are made without tools and can be performed while standing. Once set, the headrest holds its position precisely β it does not drift or shift during use.
Yes. The Atlas Headrest has a wide support surface designed with headphone use in mind. The mesh panel and frame are sized to sit behind the head without interfering with over-ear headphones, making it a natural fit for gaming, conferencing, and any extended session where headphones are in use.
Installation is tool-free and takes between 5 and 10 minutes. All required mounting components are included in the box. The headrest can also be removed and reinstalled in the same time, and leaves no permanent marks on the chair.
