Both share the same shell, oak base, and dimensions. The Standard version has a stretched upholstery cover over 20–50 mm of moulded polyurethane foam, giving it a clean, taut silhouette. The Soft version adds an extra layer of wadding beneath a non-stretched cover — resulting in a visibly fuller, more cushioned appearance that is particularly suited to hospitality and lounge-adjacent contexts. Both are available in the full range of fabric and leather options.
The Duo version of the AAC 123 is upholstered in two contrasting materials — one for the back and another for the seat and shell front. This allows for creative colour or texture combinations within a single chair, and is popular in hospitality settings or wherever a designer wants to introduce visual interest without multiple furniture pieces.
The AAC 123 is available in six upholstery groups spanning over forty fabrics and leathers from HAY's own collections and leading textile partners including Kvadrat, Maharam, and Romo. Options range from durable contract fabrics (Group 1) through to premium leathers (Groups 5 and 6). Yes. The AAC 123 is certified to EN 16139:2013 at Level 2 (Extreme Use) — the highest tier of the European standard for non-domestic seating durability and safety. It is designed and specified for hotels, restaurants, offices, conference rooms, and other high-traffic commercial environments, and has been deployed in demanding projects worldwide.
Yes — the AAC 123 is available in our Almaty showroom. We recommend visiting in person to experience the seat comfort, review fabric samples in natural light, and compare the Standard and Soft upholstery versions side by side before placing a custom order.
The AAC 123 base is available in three oak finishes: water-based lacquered oak (a warm, natural tone), black lacquered oak, and water-based lacquered walnut. All finishes use HAY's eco-certified, water-based lacquer applied to FSC-certified timber. The walnut option is particularly popular for warmer, richer interior palettes.
The AAC 123 comes standard with plastic gliders, which are suitable for most floor types. Felt gliders are available as an alternative and are recommended for hardwood, parquet, and other sensitive floor surfaces where scratching is a concern. Gliders are replaceable and available from our team if they wear over time.
The AAC 123 is covered by HAY's 5-year warranty across all components — including the upholstered shell, oak base, and gliders. All warranty service is handled locally in Kazakhstan — no shipping abroad required.
